HOAG FAMILY CANCER INSTITUTE

  • Initially opened in 1990, the Hoag Family Cancer Institute, located in Orange County, California, offers comprehensive and coordinated patient care in four locations:
Patty & George Hoag Cancer Center
    Hoag Cancer Center Irvine
Marilyn Herbert Hausman Advanced Technology Pavilion
Hoag Medical Oncology – Huntington Beach

  • Hoag Family Cancer Institute serves more patients than any other hospital in Orange County, California.

  • By offering multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient care, patients can feel confident that they will receive care that is rivaled by some of the leading institutions in the nation. As a result, Hoag continues to achieve rankings placing it in the top 10% in the nation for cancer care for several years running by U.S. News & World Report.

  • After 18 months of renovations, the Patty & George Hoag Cancer Center opened its doors to patients on February 21 of this year. The renovations added 34,000 square feet and brought cancer care under one roof (scheduling, labwork, pharmaceuticals and medical experts).

  • Thanks to a $9 million gift from best-selling author Dean Koontz and his wife Gerda, Hoag became the first hospital in Orange County and the second in California to acquire the ViewRay MRldian® linear accelerator system, the most advanced radiation treatment system in the United States.

  • Hoag is a designated Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery (COERS), making it the only integrated multi-specialty minimally-invasive team of its kind in California.

  • Hoag currently provides patients with access to more than 100 clinical trials in cancer alone. These trials, funded in part by philanthropy, evaluate cutting-edge options to treat some of the most prevalent cancers, including breast, lung, gynecologic, prostate and gastrointestinal cancers.
